Dr. Heather Sorensen
A WORD FROM THE DOCTOR:
Being an optometrist is such a privilege. Each day I come in contact with many special patients, each with the same goal, to have the best vision possible for their entire life. My promise to all my patients is to spend the time needed to ensure I am able to monitor your eye health completely and give you all your options to give you the best vision.

During optometry school Dr. Sorensen had the privilege of practicing in indigent areas in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, Florida, including Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital. In addition, she has specific externships in pediatrics, primary care and disease. After graduation, she moved back to Ohio and practiced in a private practice in Troy and Bellefontaine, Ohio until moving to Columbus where she worked for several years in a commercial setting and opened Sorensen & Sorensen, Optometrists in 1999 with her husband Dr. Kevin Sorensen.
In addition to practicing general optometry, Dr. Sorensen has special interest in Orthokeratology, difficult contact lens fittings, refractive surgery comanagement, and pediatric examinations.

On a personal note:
Dr. Sorensen was raised in the Springfield/ Urbana area in Ohio. She is a 1990 graduate of Urbana High School and is the youngest of three girls. She met her husband Dr. Kevin Sorensen while in Optometry School and was married soon after graduation. The doctors have a daughter, Addison and a son, Maxwell.
