Dr. Heather Sorensen A WORD FROM THE DOCTOR:
Being an optometrist is such a privilege. Each day I come in contact with many special patients, each with the same goal, to have the best vision possible for their entire life. My promise to all my patients is to spend the time needed to ensure I am able to monitor your eye health completely and give you all your options to give you the best vision.

During optometry school Dr. Sorensen had the privilege of practicing in indigent areas in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, Florida, including Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital. In addition, she has specific externships in pediatrics, primary care and disease. After graduation, she moved back to Ohio and practiced in a private practice in Troy and Bellefontaine, Ohio until moving to Columbus where she worked for several years in a commercial setting and opened Sorensen & Sorensen, Optometrists in 1999 with her husband Dr. Kevin Sorensen.
In addition to practicing general optometry, Dr. Sorensen has special interest in Gentle Vision Reshaping, difficult contact lens fittings, refractive surgery comanagement, and pediatric examinations.

Dr. Sorensen was raised in the Springfield/ Urbana area in Ohio. She is a 1990 graduate of Urbana High School and is the youngest of three girls. She met her husband Dr. Kevin Sorensen while in Optometry School and was married soon after graduation. The doctors have a daughter, Addison and a son, Maxwell.

It is such an enjoyable experience having an optometry practice, especially one where I have a great staff to work with and a wonderful partner that I know has the same compassion and concern for patients that I have. My goal is always to meet and exceed your expectations by giving you a thorough examination, having beneficial options and quality products all of which will keep your vision and ocular health the best it can be while you are in my care.

After graduation, he moved to Ohio and practiced in Dayton, Ohio until moving to Columbus where he worked for several years in a commercial setting and opened Sorensen & Sorensen, Optometrists in 1999 with his wife Dr. Heather Sorensen.

Julie - Front Desk Coordinator As our front desk coordinator, Julie will welcome you to our office and answer questions concerning your visit. She also works with your insurance company to authorize your benefits for your visit.
Janell - Optometric Assistant As our optometric assistant, Janell will do preliminary testing before you see the doctor. Janell's caring and helpful demeanor will make you feel comfortable during your visit in the office.
Kathy - Optician Kathy brings over 20 years of optical experience to assist you. Her outgoing personality and expertise will make you feel at ease while choosing your new pair of glasses or teaching you about your new contact lenses.
Kelly - Optician Kelly started in our office as our Front Desk and Orthokeratology coordinator. She has since become an optician and is here to help find you that perfect frame while educating you on all the products available to allow you to see the best possible.
Abby - Optician Abby comes to our office with a background in fashion to help you choose the right style of frame for you. As a contact lens wearer, she is also ready to teach you about your contact lenses.
